Sweet Dreamzzz is a brand new Baby store in Penryn, it has a wide selection of prams, pushchairs, carseats and its run by a lovely family, what's not to like? Tell us about your business…what do you do?
We are a small local business selling prams, pushchairs, car seats, nursery furniture and accessories. We are able to advise parents and parents to be on car seats and prams, and once Covid-19 is over and we are able to undertake training, we will be able to offer a car seat fitting service.
What makes your business unique/special?
As we are a small business, we can offer a really personal service. We have young children in our families so know a lot of information about our products and what things might be useful to parents. There are also no other nursery shops in the local area, and we feel this is a much-needed business and service for parents in Cornwall.
What item/service on your menu or in your shop do you just LOVE and think everyone needs?
We are IN LOVE with the latest infant car seat that can be put on a 360-degree rotating isofix base. The base allows you to rotate the car seat whilst it is still in the car so that you are not putting your baby in or out of the car at awkward angles.
What are you passionate about outside of your business?
Denise loves living in Cornwall and visiting the beach at every opportunity! She has a small dog and a three-year-old granddaughter and is always exploring the woods and beautiful walks Cornwall has to offer.
Alyson loves to crochet and read in her spare time. She also has plenty of animals on her land, including a horse,
donkey, chickens and a cat!
Describe your perfect day?
Our perfect day at work would be helping parents and parents to be find their perfect pram, car seat or nursery furniture. We are very family oriented and are so excited to be able to share in a couple’s happiness and excitement as their family grows.
What other local business do you love and why?
We have supported local businesses as much as we can, particularly during lockdown. Our local milkman, fishmonger, butchers and veg supplier have been a godsend.
Another favourite of ours would be Trevena Garden Centre and coffee shop. We love the selection they offer in the shop and the great cake and food in the café! We also love taking the children there at Christmas.
Why would you encourage someone to shop locally rather than online?
We are able to offer a personal service to our customers that you do not get online. We are knowledgeable about all of our products and have a large selection of prams and pushchairs that customers are able to try pushing around our store to really get a feel for how they drive. They can also try car seats in their car to ensure they are the right size and fit, and to learn about how they work. It is just not the same only seeing photographs online!
Having grown up with high street shopping we are passionate to keep the high street alive and have a physical store for people to visit. The response on our Facebook page has so far been really encouraging that this is a store that people need in Cornwall, so we hope people shop local rather than online so that we can continue to provide this service to local people.
