Glitterally Amazing...

Glitter past & present...

Well…Christmas is fast approaching and we’ve already started planning our sessions for this years festivities, and we couldn't be more excited! Introducing the Glitter Session!

Everyone loves glitter and anthropologists have stated that this attraction to all things shiny dates back to our hunter gatherer days, when the acquisition of sparkly, shiny objects was associated with spiritual powers. According to researchers in the U.S, human instinct also plays a part in our attraction to sparkly objects; our brains are hardwired to look for sparkles and shimmers in the hope we might find our next source of water. It’s not just our need to look and feel fabulous, I swear! As well as this, throughout mankind’s history, power and wealth have closely been associated with gold, diamonds and all things bling. The Ancient Egyptians certainly loved to go all out in the bling department! Today we are still attracted to gold and sparkly watches, necklaces and bracelets; it wasn’t so long ago I presented Jo with a diamond for her finger, a token of our love.

It wasn't until the 19th century when the first incarnation of glitter appeared in the form of crushed, multicoloured glass; very glamorous, but certainly more dangerous. Thankfully we won’t be using 19th century glitter for our sessions!

Bling me up!

A Glitter Session with Jo Buckley Photography is a great way to get fun, natural, professional photographs of your little ones. Using glitter naturally gets children excited and brings out those beautiful smiles that would otherwise be impossible to get with a camera phone. We’ve decided to go gold for a hint of the festive season ahead and that also makes a Glitter Session the perfect gift for your loved ones this Christmas. With the combination of professional lighting, artistic flair and meticulous editing/retouching you’ll be sure to walk away with photographs that are timeless, luxury and 100% glittertastic! You can keep your beautiful portraits in a stunning memory box complete with a blinged up USB to store your digital files. The portraits are printed 8x6 on professional quality lustre paper and then slipped into a gorgeous mount for safe keeping.

All our Glitter Sessions are taking place on Sunday the 26th November 2017 and slots are allocated on a first come first serve basis so please book early to avoid disappointment. If you’d like further information about our Glitter Session please feel free to give us a call or send us an email.
